The new weapons, enemies, and music all received positive remarks, as did the level design, which reviewers. ![]() The level introduces a new type of hazard rolling boulders that can crush a careless player. Scourge of Armagon was met with consistently positive reviews at the time of its release, with many critics noting that the level of polish was a marked improvement over previously released Quake level packs such as Shrak and Dark Hour. It consists of two small buildings on the surface and a series of tunnels underground. ![]() You'll now be in the "Well of Wishes" with the Dopefish and this will exit out into another secret which contains the secret exit. The Lost Mine is the third level of Fortress of the Dead. As of 2005, the group is still active, making rare speedrun releases. Jump into the hole, navigate around, and fall down into the water below. Scourge done Slick (which required the Scourge of Armagon expansion pack). Jump to the right and follow a very narrow ledge around to a hole in the wall. Once the coast is clear, look back at the door toward the nail trap hallway and you'll see some ledges on either side. Return to the bridge area from before and proceed to kill all of the enemies to make the next section easier. You'll see a message on the screen that states an underwater passage is now open. Jump through there, collect the armor and press a switch. In that dead-end room (which spawns a Shambler on higher difficulties), shoot a switch on the ceiling and notice that the wall in between some boxes opens up. Centroids are very formidable and will dodge slow moving projectiles via strafing. Centroids are very aggressive and will often start (and win) monster Infighting on their own. Proceed forward to find the regular exit on your right and a seemingly dead-end room on the left. A Centroid (called Scourge in the game files) is a large mechanical scorpion-like creature which appears in Scourge of Armagon. You'll be running through a hallway with some nail traps on the wall that exits out to a bridge overlooking water with multiple paths. Proceed through the level as normal until you're near the top of the map. The secret exit in episode two is found within the third level, "The Crypt of Decay." This is actually very close to the hidden Dopefish room that is required for another achievement/trophy, which makes accessing the secret exit easier. ![]()
